Fees & Support
Paying your Fees
Course fees must be paid in full at least two weeks prior to the start of the course. Please note we are unable to offer concessions for recreational courses.
You may incur additional costs for materials or ingredients which need to be used as part of the course e.g. cookery courses and oil painting.
Recreational courses are not subject to the £40 College facilities fee.
The fee you pay covers all teaching, any registration or exam fees charged by the awarding bodies and the cost of any certificate postage.
The fees quoted apply to ‘home’ and ‘EU’ students and may be subject to change. If your employer is paying, please make this clear on the Learner’s Agreement showing contact name and address.
Fees must be paid in full before the start of the course. If the cost is over £300 this can be paid in three equal instalments as follows: a third on enrolment followed by two payments at the end of the following two months e.g. payment 1 in August (at enrolment); payment 2 by 30th September; payment 3 by October 31st.
Fee Remission: If you’re aged between 19 and 23 and in receipt of Job Seekers Allowance (JSA) or Employment Support Allowance (ESA) in the Work-Related Activity Group, you may be eligible for help with the tuition fees on some qualification courses. Please note, students claiming fee remission must enrol in person with proof of their eligibility. This should be the latest letter detailing your eligibility to JSA or the appropriate ESA. If you are aged between 19 and 23 and have not previously achieved a full Level 2 or 3 qualification, you may be entitled to free tuition.
Anyone entitled to fee remission will still be liable to pay the £40 College facilities.
For more information on these entitlements, please contact the College.
Refunds and Support
If your chosen course does not run, we will refund your payment in full.
Refunds are only provided in certain circumstances.
If a student is unable to attend a course they have enrolled for due to unseen circumstances and the College is informed at least 10 calendar days before the start of a course, the student will be offered the opportunity to transfer to another course on another day. Any fee differences will apply.
If a student is unable to attend at all and withdraws at least 10 calendar days before the first session, full refund will be offered minus an admin fee of £25.
Withdrawal within 10 calendar days before the course starts and up to 4 calendar days of the course starting, refund is at 50% plus an admin fee of £25.
No refunds are offered from 5 calendar days after a course has started.
If the College has to close due to adverse weather conditions, power failure or fire, alternative arrangements will be offered where possible.
Course Viability: If the number of students on your course falls below a certain level (usually 6 students) the College reserves the right to make changes to the offer to enable the course to run where possible. These changes may include:
reducing the total hours of the course
reducing the number of weeks
amalgamating with another group.
In these circumstances, we cannot refund the fee, as a last resort we reserve the right to close the course, in which case a full refund will be given.
The fee you have paid on recreational courses includes access to a suitable classroom and equipment; your course information will outline any materials you need to bring with you. If you have paid for a qualification course, this also includes access to the College’s Learning Resources Centre during normal College hours and until 7.00pm on Mondays. You must have your Student ID card to access this facility. Extra study support is also available for students on qualification courses who have difficulties coping with the demands of their course. Details can be obtained from Student Services.
