10 Easy Steps…
Visa Information
If you require a visa to study in the UK you will need to apply for this before you leave your home country. You will need a student visa if your study period is formore than 6 months. Bexhill College is a sponsor for student visas and we can help you through the process. However, it is your responsibility to make sure you have a valid visa and have met all of the UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) requirements. Please use the links below for all visa information.
You need to have received a Confirmation of Acceptance to Study (CAS) from the College before you are able to apply for a visa, so please allow plenty of time for us to process your application and then for the UKVI to process your visa. We advise that you apply for your visa at least two months before your course is due to start to avoid disappointment. In order for your visa to be processed you will need to prove that you are able to pay your fees and fund your living costs whilst studying. We will need evidence of this when you apply to study at Bexhill College. We will also need evidence of your level of English Language by a Secure English Language Test (SELT).
Please ensure you are aware of all the visa requirements for entry into the UK prior to applying. The buttons below link to websites that will help you with this.

Required English Level
In order for your application to be processed, we need to know how good you are at English.
This is partly for visa purposes and partly so that we can be sure you will be able to cope in your classes at Bexhill 6th Form College. You will need to have at least IELTS Level 4.0 (which is equivalent to B1) to study for 1 year or more. The test needs to be a SELT and can be taken at a secure test centre as detailed on the UKVI website. These are accessible in any country and cover speaking, listening, reading, and writing the English language. You will need to send us proof of your level of English, along with your application form, to enable us to issue you with a CAS. If your English is not yet at this standard, you may need to enrol on our Level 3 preparation course.
For programmes less than 1 year, you do not need to take a SELT. However, we will need to see a high level of English on your latest school report.
Please contact us if you are unsure or would like some advice. We are always ready to help.
