Why should you take this course?
This course will give you a thorough insight into the outdoor adventure industry, focusing on both theory and practical aspects. The course is designed for students who want to progress directly to employment or self-employment in the outdoor activities sector. The breadth of the optional content in the qualification allows students to widen their progression opportunities including progression onto a number of different higher-education courses or to work in the outdoor activities sector in associated roles, such as business support, sports development, tourism, and events.

How will I be assessed?
Assessment is completed over two years through external exams and internal assignment work.
There will be written assignments and other assessments that will take the form of tutor observations, placement reports, diary entries, photographic or video evidence, and group work. Grading is awarded as Pass, Merit, or Distinction.
Are there any special expenses?
There will be some additional costs for sport and outdoor adventure activities and residential trips. There is a uniform which must be worn for all lessons.
What could I do next?
Extended Diplomas are valued by employers and higher education providers. You could work in the outdoor environment or continue studying at university
