Why should you take this course?

Animal Management is a rapidly developing sector with many different career paths and opportunities for those wanting to work with animals.

Course content

There are five units:

Animal Welfare and Ethics

Practical Animal Husbandry

Animal Behaviour

Animal Health and Disease

Work Experience in the Animal Sector

How will I be assessed?

There is a three-hour exam to assess the Animal Welfare unit based upon three hours of research on a scenario set by the exam board. The remaining units are assessed via internal assignments.

Are there any special expenses?

There will be travel expenses to work placement. You will also need to provide your own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as overalls and sturdy footwear, as these are essential for practical work with animals. There may also be additional costs for visits and other related activities.

What could I do next?

This qualification provides an engaging pathway for those pursuing a career in the animal-related industry or aiming to access higher education courses such as Zoology, Animal Behaviour, Welfare, and Conservation‚ especially if taken alongside A Level Biology. It also offers valuable experience for those interested in apprenticeships or employment in the animal sector, including roles in animal charities, pet shops, and kennels. As this course is equivalent to one A Level, you will need to study two additional subjects alongside it.
