Why should you take this course?

This course allows you to engage in a broad investigation of the children’s care and education sector (0-8 years). You will understand how children develop, your role in supporting development through play and learning, as well as keeping children safe.

Course content

This course provides specialist training covering occupational and industry-specific skills.

Units will include:

• Child development
• Keeping Children Safe
• Play and Learning
• Research and Reflective Practice in an Early Years Setting.
• You will also complete some work placement in an Early Years Setting.

How will I be assessed?

There are two externally set and marked units and two internally marked units.

Are there any special expenses?

A DBS check will be required.

What could I do next?

You will learn the skills and qualities needed to work with children and build a portfolio of evidence to support your transition to higher education.
