Course content
You will complete a nationally recognised BTEC qualification, studying a range of engaging units including:
• Enterprise in the Business World Understand how trends, technology and the wider economy affect businesses.
• Finance for Business Learn how businesses make profit, control costs and measure success.
• Principles of Marketing Discover how businesses attract and retain customers.
• Promoting a Brand Create and promote your own brand.
• Recruitment, Selection and Employment Explore recruitment and organisational structures.
• Financial Planning and Forecasting Go deeper into financial decision-making
by analysing cash flow forecasts, budgets and accounts.
• Small Business Planning Develop and pitch your own realistic business plan.
You will also complete a work experience placement, helping you apply your learning in a real workplace and build valuable industry skills.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is varied and practical, designed to develop real business skills:
• Business reports and presentations
• Role play and interview simulations
• Two externally assessed examinations
Are there any special expenses?
Students will be required to attend a work placement which will incur a cost for travel.
