Why should you take this course?
Psychology is the scientific study of the relationship between behaviour, performance, and mental processes. The Applied Psychology course is specifically aimed at understanding the importance of psychology in a health-related career. You will also study research methods and their application in applied psychology as well as undertake your own research project.
Psychology is an ideal course to study alongside courses with psychology elements within them; such as Sociology, Criminology, Childcare, and Sport or Physical Education.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through a combination of external and internal assessments. The external assessment is through examinations. The remainder of the course is assessed through internally-devised assignments based around research and project work.

Knowledge of Psychology has many real-life applications. The evaluative and analytical skills learned can be applied to all manner of careers involving people. However, specific careers in Psychology, for example, a clinical or educational psychologist, require some form of postgraduate training.
