On Friday the 27th February, we welcomed school SENCOs for our February SEND Transition Event at Bexhill College.  During this event, we shared an overview of our SEND provision, including Study Centre support, curriculum pathways, exams access arrangements, safeguarding and preparation for adulthood. Emma Ramsden, Senior Conservation Education and Community Lead at Combe Valley Countryside Park came in to speak to our students studying A Level Biology, T Level and Level 3 Animal Management. Rosannna Leal from The Refugee Buddy Project, Hastings visited our Year 2 Art Extended Diploma students to speak to them about the work they do to support refugees within our local community. On Wednesday the 11th of February, we proudly welcomed back Sasha Bateman (class of 2025) via a Microsoft Teams call in our immersive classroom. She spoke to a group of Economics, Business and T Level students about her experience of working as a Marketing Apprentice with Amazon. A level Physical Education and BTEC Sport Level 3 Extended Diploma had a talk today from Erin Boles, one of the Physiotherapists from the Conquest Hospital. The talk focused on the different types of Physiotherapy care and the different pathways students can take to become Physiotherapists.

Bexhill 6th Form College was delighted to welcome back former Engineering student Michael Morehen as part of National Apprenticeship Week. On Wednesday the 4th of February we had Nick Weight and Ian Wright, two representatives from the Burnt Chef Project, attend the college and spoke to the Level 2 Diploma in Culinary Skill catering students on Positive Mental Health in the Catering and Hospitality Industry. Students in all year groups received a talk from local Police on the subject of County lines. The session covered signs to look out for, the real life consequences of being involved and where to go to for help. This session was given to all classes across both year groups throughout the whole week. We thank local police for giving up their time to come in and deliver a session on this important topic!  

On Friday 30th January, over 150 Politics, Economics, Business, and Law students at had the opportunity to hear from Kieran Mullan MP, the Member of Parliament for Bexhill and Battle. Kieran shared insights into his career as a doctor and journey into politics, offering students a firsthand look at the paths available for entering politics. On Thursday 22nd January, Emma Ridley from East Sussex County Council's Employability and Skills Team delivered an interactive one‑hour LinkedIn workshop to our Year 2 students, demonstrating how to use the platform and highlighting its key benefits.
