Employer Encounter: Health and Social Care students visit Saxonwood Care Home

On Monday the 24th of June, the BTEC Level 3 Health and Social Care group visited Saxonwood Care Home in Battle. This trip provided the students with insights into the residents' home and the staff's job roles. Afterwards, our students decorated cupcakes and made bracelets with some of the residents. We would like to thank Saxonwood for giving our students the opportunity to visit.

Our Level 1, 2, and 3 Health and Social Care students were joined by Sara Knight, a training and development consultant from East Sussex County Council. Sara talked to the class about the Health and Social Care sector and discussed the progression, roles and responsibilities, job opportunities, and the many different roles available to them. Sara also discussed the type of support she can provide for students post-college, with application processes.

On Tuesday the 13th of June, Bexhill College hosted a Health & Social Care Reverse Jobs Fair. The fair was a great opportunity for the students and local employers to come together, allowing students to ask questions about careers within the sector and also demonstrate the care skills they have obtained so far. We would like to thank the local employers for their time and participation in this event.

Huw Merriman MP visited Bexhill College touring the College's T Level building with its industry-standard teaching rooms and equipment. He had the opportunity to observe T Level Health students developing the skills required for their NHS placements and talk to students and staff about how T Levels are delivered at the College.
