On Friday the 13th of February, our Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Professional Cookery students took part in an inspirational visit to Gravetye Manor Hotel, a bespoke speciality, 5-star, 2 Michelin Key hotel with a restaurant that holds a Michelin Star. Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma Hospitality students visited The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne this week to speak to executive chef, Hrvoje Loncarevic, about factors to consider when planning menus. Hrvoje answered questions to support students understanding for menus they must plan as part of their assignment. On Wednesday 14th January, First-year Geography students carried out a fieldwork investigation as part of their course. For one of the units of this project, Changing Places, they had to investigate the impact of regeneration schemes, where they had to compare a nearby area to somewhere further away, Hastings and Brick Lane in Tower Hamlets. First- and second-year geology students worked with In Situ Site Investigation to carry out cone penetration testing to assess ground lithology and stability as part of a project addressing a landslide in St Leonards. Students will then analyse the data and report their findings to engineers to find the most suitable cliff stabilisation solution. On 2nd December 2025, our T Level learners had the incredible opportunity to tour one of Collier Webb’s world-class manufacturing sites. Known for their bespoke, high-end lighting systems that grace luxury hotels across the globe, Collier Webb showcased the artistry and precision behind their creations. One highlight? On the 3rd and 4th December, twenty eight of the college's English and Humanities students enjoyed two days immersed in the world of William Shakespeare in his hometown of Stratford-upon-Avon.
