Level 3 Sport Students Stepped into the World of Elite Winter Sport

On the 5th March, our Level 3 Sport students stepped into the world of elite winter sport! Using VR headsets in the immersive room, students explored attentional control in Skeleton Bobsleigh as part of their Sport Psychology studies. A fantastic way to bring sport psychology to life and help students understand how focus and concentration can impact performance at high speeds!

Bexhill College’s mixed volleyball team travel to Farnborough for their quarter final fixture

On January 28th Bexhill College's mixed volleyball team travelled to Farnborough (Hampshire) for their quarter final fixture. This is the furthest the mixed volleyball team has reached in college history. The team demonstrated great determination and teamwork throughout a competitive fixture. Unfortunately, we were defeated 3 -1 by a well-organised team. We wish Farnborough College good luck for their semi-final fixture!

Students go on Ski trip to Bormio in Italy

Forty students travelled to Bormio, Italy to take part in a ski trip designed to help them learn or further develop their skills. During the week, students participated in structured ski lessons tailored to their ability levels, allowing beginners to build confidence and more experienced skiers to refine their technique and progress on a variety of slopes. Bexhill College swim team came second in round two of the Superleague

Bexhill College Swim Team, in an amalgamated team with St Richards School, came second in the second round of the Superleague last week! The results of Round Two are as follows: Roedean – 79 Bexhill – 136 Shoreham – 136 Battle Abbey – 163 Tonbridge – 195 There were some fantastic swims and a lot of support from everyone that attended. Students visit Hemel Hempstead Snow Centre to practice ahead of ski trip

On 6th January, we took 16 beginner skiers to Hemel Hempstead Snow Centre to take part in a structured ski lesson in preparation for the upcoming ski trip to Bormio, Italy. The session was designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of skiing in a safe and controlled environment before travelling abroad. Mixed Volleyball team get through to quarter finals of the National Volleyball Cup

Our mixed volleyball team made the long trip to the New Forest to play Brockenhurst College in the National Volleyball Cup. It was a very competitive match with great sportsmanship demonstrated by both teams. Ultimately, we won in straight sets, 25-20, 25-15, 25-19. We were delighted to welcome Kane from A1Multisport who delivered an engaging wheelchair basketball session to our Sport students. Our A Level PE, BTEC Sport, Sport Coaching, and Level 2 students gained invaluable hands-on experience with adaptive sports, learning new skills and perspectives that will enrich their understanding of inclusive sport. Heidi Tambeh, from Active Hastings came into Bexhill College to give a talk and practical presentation to the Year 2, Level 3 Sport Extended Diploma students about Sports Development in the Hastings area and how they have successfully increased levels of Physical Activity in the Area. The students also received feedback on Sports Development Proposals they are created for Heidi to raise participation for target group and participated in a Street Games Session.
