Educational Visit – A Level Politics Students visit Houses of Parliament

On Thursday 16th April, our first year A Level Politics students travelled to the Houses of Parliament to see first hand how politics in the UK works. They were given a guided tour of both houses, the House of Commons and the House of Lords, and were given the chance to observe the law making process in action and watch debates as they happened. This was a great opportunity to see the theory from the class room put into action, and our tour guide Emma, remarked on how aware the students were of how parliament works.
Students then took part in an insightful workshop on how politicians are elected in to parliament, before taking part in some research being conducted by the House of Lords into young people’s attitudes on Housing, which provided a thoughtful end to an engaging day of politics.
