A Level PE students visit Chichester University’s sport science department

30 of our A Level PE students recently visited Chichester University for an immersive experience in sports science. The visit provided our students with hands-on experience in the following areas: Exercise Physiology: Students used cycle ergometers and Douglas bags to collect and analyse expelled gases, deepening their understanding of respiratory processes during exercise. Last week, 28 A Level PE students visited Brighton University’s Sports Science department for the day, learning about the various different sport courses that they could study. Year 1 A Level PE Students Visit Lord’s Cricket Ground

On Thursday 11th of May, Year 1 A Level PE students visited Lord’s Cricket Ground in London where they toured the museum, media centre, training centre, and real tennis court where they watched a live game of tennis. Students also had the opportunity to see a cricket match between Cambridge Women’s Team and Oxford Women’s Team. This helped develop the students’ knowledge and understanding of the ‘Sport and Society’ topic they are currently studying.

Employer Encounter: peActive Bespoke Exam Technique Workshops

Yesterday, 62 Year 1 and Year 2 A Level PE students took part in bespoke exam technique workshops throughout the day with Jackie Brooke from peActive. The sessions were focused on developing their confidence with Evaluate and Analyse questions, answering questions with accuracy and pace, and how to attack synoptic questions. The students went away with the knowledge of what good 8-mark and 15-mark answers look like and greater awareness of how to structure them.
