This week, Bexhill College celebrated its very first World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development. The event was organised and facilitated by the Student Council's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion officers, and included a range of different cultural activities for all students to take part in. First-year Extending Diploma Business students brought Christmas cheer, and some healthy entrepreneurial competition, to The Ref this week as they hosted a lively fundraising event in support of Chestnut Tree House, a local children’s hospice. On the 5th of September, new students enjoyed our Fresher’s Fair event which hosted many different activities. Students were able to take part in lots of engaging games throughout the day. Students Host Event for Whitebriars Care Home Residents

BTEC First Diploma students in Health and Social Care, Hospitality and Performing Arts, were delighted to host a group of older adults from Whitebriars Care Home for a morning of tea, crafts, and Christmas carols. This event introduced students to working with individuals, the majority of whom are living with dementia. On Thursday the 25th of May, our Hairdressing and Barbering department hosted their end-of-year show! The students researched their chosen themes, displaying their hairdressing skills on their models through a range of classic and creative looks. After completing an entire unit of their studies, this was a fitting opportunity for them to showcase their work. During the May half-term, Bexhill College Dance student Evie Dawes represented her dance school ‘Lacey Theatre Arts’ run by Amanda Williams, competing at the Ore Stage Festival for 3 days. Evie won the Senior WCA Award of £100, where she was required to perform her Ballet and Modern solo in a class. On Saturday the 29th of April, Bexhill College dance student Evie Dawes performed with a host of West End stars in 'West End Returns to Leatherhead' after being asked by choreographer, Keeleigh Schlippé-Steffenson, to perform with a small select group of dancers.
