This week, Bexhill College celebrated its very first World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development. The event was organised and facilitated by the Student Council’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion officers, and included a range of different cultural activities for all students to take part in. The activities ranged from taking part in a Kahoot quiz to having students represent their cultures through song and dance. Some students used the plant-based dye, Henna, as well as face paints, to draw temporary designs on each other’s hands.
Students were also able to use stickers on a World Map to indicate which parts of the world they or their families had connections to, and were given the opportunity to try a multitude of different foods from across the globe. Overall, it was an extremely successful event with excellent student participation and enthusiasm.
