Recently, the Bexhill College Sports Department welcomed a range of employers from the Sport and Public Service sector for an employment engagement event. The day was an opportunity for employers to provide guidance on how students can be best prepared for employment whilst also discussing a range of work experience opportunities for the students. Current Level 3 Sport student Erin Todd delivered a short presentation on her own experiences of work experience at Eastbourne Borough last summer.
Refreshments were supplied by our Level 3 Food Science Diploma students who prepared and served lunch and drinks to the guests throughout the day. The students chose the food to be served and set up the service area, considering dietary needs and food safety as part of their Unit 2 Ensuring Food is Safe to Eat. The students were confident in speaking to potential employers highlighting how food science is embedded in a wide range of subjects to support healthy lifestyles.
