On Tuesday, 23rd June, Bexhill College hosted its Year 1 Progression Day. Students had the chance to engage with 35 organisations and 48 speakers from across the UK, including universities, employers and industry professionals from Sussex, London, Wales, the South West, East Anglia and the North of England.
The event offered an incredible range of opportunities, covering everything from medicine, nursing, veterinary science, psychology, law and policing, to business, economics, sustainability, computing, esports, creative industries, teaching and sport.
Student feedback showed that what they valued most were sessions that were interactive, practical and linked directly to future careers and university pathways, with many reporting an increased interest in the subject area after attending.
This is what students had to say about the event:
“It opened my eyes to a world of career I never thought I would be interested in.”
“Very interactive and interesting with lots of group work.”
“It gave me clear options and guidance about how to enter the medical field.”
“We were able to think about the future while having fun, and it was still very informative.”
A huge thank you to all our speakers and partners for helping students explore new possibilities, discover future pathways and gain valuable insight into university, apprenticeships and careers.
