BTEC First Diploma students in Health and Social Care, Hospitality and Performing Arts, were delighted to host a group of older adults from Whitebriars Care Home for a morning of tea, crafts, and Christmas carols.
This event introduced students to working with individuals, the majority of whom are living with dementia. Health and Social Care students prepared resources for the craft session, while Hospitality students provided a fantastic morning tea with table service. Meanwhile, the Performing Arts students delivered a cheerful set of Christmas carols and songs.
The residents appeared to thoroughly enjoy the session with the residents able to sing and dance to the songs. The students themselves said that it was rewarding to spend time with the older adults and socialize with them.
