Bexhill Sixth Form College is celebrating another year of exceptional achievement as students receive their A Level, T Level and Level 3 Vocational qualification results.
Across over 1180 entries at A level, initial indications suggest that the pass rate will equal or exceed the national pass rate which is a testament to the commitment, determination and hard work shown by both students and staff throughout the past two years.
Several subjects achieved a 100% pass rate, including Art, Philosophy, History, Further Maths and English Literature. Many other subjects, including Physics, Computer science, Biology and Economics achieved pass rates of 95% or higher. Students also secured strong grades across a wide range of subjects, with 73% of A Level entries awarded grades A* to C. These results will enable many students to progress to their chosen university destinations, including a number of highly selective institutions across the UK.
The College also celebrated outstanding success in its T Level programmes. T levels are offered in a range of subject areas including Engineering, Business Management and Administration, Health, Education and Early Years, Animal Care and Media and Broadcast. Equivalent to three A Levels, these courses require students to undertake examinations as well as complete a substantial period of work placement. Of the students who completed a T level qualification this summer, 81% gained Merit or Distinction grades, equivalent to A or B grades at A Level. The College would like to thank the many employers who provided the industry placements that form an essential part of the programme.
Students studying Level 3 Extended Diplomas, which are also equivalent to three A Levels, achieved similarly strong outcomes. Many students achieved the highest possible grades, including Triple Distinction Star (DDD*), equivalent to three A* grades at A Level. These qualifications will enable students to progress confidently into higher education, apprenticeships and employment.
We are also immensely proud of the achievements of our students with SEND. The Local Authority annual monitoring visit recognised the strength of our inclusive provision, personalised support and high aspirations, which enable learners to thrive, progress and achieve their goals. Today’s results reflect the dedication of our students, the commitment of our staff and our belief that every learner can succeed.
These excellent results cap an outstanding year for Bexhill College, marked by a series of significant achievements and national recognition.
Earlier this year, the College joined universities and leading organisations from across Sussex in launching a landmark Civic University Agreement, a collaborative commitment to support regional economic growth and address social and environmental challenges across the county.
The College also played a key role in a major environmental milestone, contributing to the Carbon Literacy Trust’s achievement of certifying 150,000 Carbon Literate individuals across seven continents. Bexhill College is particularly proud to have one of the largest cohorts of Carbon Literacy-trained students in the country.
Further recognition came through the College’s accounting provision. Following its success in 2025 in being named AAT Small Provider of the Year, Bexhill College was shortlisted for two prestigious national awards in 2026: Medium Provider of the Year and Inclusive Provider of the Year.
The College has also successfully retained the nationally recognised Quality in Careers Standard. Assessors praised the College’s innovative and well-established approach to Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG), highlighting the commitment to careers support demonstrated by staff across the organisation.
Students continued to excel beyond the classroom. An Economics student won a prestigious national essay competition organised by the University of Warwick Economics Society through its Warwick Future Economists programme.
Meanwhile, for the second consecutive year, Media and Digital students secured victory in the Digital Futures Accelerator Project, developing innovative digital solutions with industry mentors and successfully progressing from concept to prototype and final pitch.
The College’s sporting success was equally impressive. In association with Chelsea FC and in partnership with Eastbourne Borough FC, the Men’s Football Academy Second Team won the Sussex U19 County Cup. A member of the first team was selected to captain the England Under 18 Schoolboys team against Wales. In addition, three members of the Men’s Football Academy represented the British Virgin Islands Under-20 team in the World Cup qualifying competition.
These achievements reflect not only the academic excellence of students but also the breadth of opportunities available at Bexhill College, including careers guidance, enrichment activities, competitive sport, educational visits and guest speaker programmes.
