Jay Wootten, the Corporate Social Responsibility Manager from Hastings Direct, visited the 1st year Business Extended Diploma and Transition Level students recently. He spoke to them about the recruitment process that Hastings Direct use and what he as an interviewer looks for in candidates. Jay also got the students involved in some of the group assessments that they use to shortlist candidates.
This was a very open session which was led by the questions the students had about recruitment and selection processes. Beck Brann, course lead for Vocational Business said “We were very grateful to have had East Sussex’s biggest employer in to talk to our students about a variety of recruitment methods. Jay also gave some great advice regarding CVs and how to go about presenting yourself when going to interviews.”
