Earlier today, Bexhill College were pleased to welcome Sophie Rackham from Future Elite Sports to present to our students opportunities which are available through American Sports Scholarships. Future Elite Sports is a full-time sports academy that helps student-athletes find scholarships across a range of sports in the USA. They are an organisation recognised by the UK’s leading governing bodies in both school and college sports and they are also partnered with other organisations such as AOC Sport, England Colleges FA, and the International Alliance.
Sports scholarships in the USA provide students with a lifetime opportunity to play collegiate sports and work towards a university qualification. Collegiate sports in the USA not only offer large fanbases and elite competition, but it is a massive business that attracts high-profile sponsorships and national television publicity.
During the talk, Sophie also mentioned Bexhill College alumnus Izzy Payne, a student athlete they had previously worked with. Izzy formerly played for Hastings United, and currently has a sports scholarship playing football at Arizona Western College and a sponsorship with Under Armour. Well done to Izzy for her outstanding achievements and progressing towards her career!
Over 100 students were in attendance in the two talks and opportunities in a range of sports such as football, golf and basketball will be followed up in the coming weeks.
