Yesterday, our first-year Level 3 BTEC Engineering students continued to work hard on completing their Engineering Unit 3 assignment; making Toolmakers Clamps. The unit involves three parts; a production plan, a risk assessment, and a workshop-based process where students implement their production plan in groups. While the students are guided in using the machinery, they have complete freedom in choosing their methods.
The Unit 3 assignment is evidence-based and the criteria examine a student’s leadership, teamwork skills, risk assessment, ability to work from technical documents, and adaptability or forward thinking.
