On Monday 30th January 2023, the Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Professional Cookery (Kitchen & Larder) students visited Gravetye Manor, a high-class hotel with an award-winning, Michelin-starred restaurant. The students were given a talk on the history and ethos of the Hotel by the General Manager and the Executive Chef, and then taken on a guided tour of the hotel, kitchen, and grounds, being given demonstrations and explanations in all areas.
The Executive Chef, George Bloggs, talked to the students about his expectations for people to be employed in his kitchen and did a question-and-answer session with the students. They were then taken to a private dining room and had a three-course meal cooked exclusively for them with amuse-bouche and finished with petite fours. The students were inspired and came away with raised expectations and greater knowledge of fine dining and the industry at this standard.
