This week we had our Single Year Progression Day, where we had 6 speakers come in to talk to our level 1 and level 2 students.
James Kimble came in to talk about apprenticeships and his journey from being a student, securing an apprenticeship, and to now running his own business.
Clair Eastes from Jacobs came in to talk about CVs and the importance of having a good one.
Emilie de la Nougerede from the University of Sussex came in to discuss the importance of finances and taking care of your money.
Amy Adams and Laura T,owers from the University of Brighton came in to talk about ‘Why go to uni?’ and what a degree can do for your career.
RVA and HVA came in to discuss volunteering and how valuable this can be for experience, self esteem, and how it can help to secure employment.
John Young, who was a BBC news presenter for over 30 years, came in and delivered a workshop on ‘How to smash your interview out of the park’, encouraging students to think about the stories they can tell during an interview, to help them secure employment.
