Last week, 28 A Level PE students visited Brighton University’s Sports Science department for the day, learning about the various different sport courses that they could study. They then took part in physiological testing in the sport science labs which Year 1 University students would do on their course alongside some PhD students. They also went into the environmental labs where they had to carry out tests in the heat chamber which was heated up to temperatures that may be felt in Paris 2024 and learnt about different ways to cool athletes. Finally, the students visited the psychology labs where students took part in demonstrations of some of the lab equipment including a brain stimulator.
