During the May half-term, Bexhill College Dance student Evie Dawes represented her dance school ‘Lacey Theatre Arts’ run by Amanda Williams, competing at the Ore Stage Festival for 3 days. Evie won the Senior WCA Award of £100, where she was required to perform her Ballet and Modern solo in a class. Evie was also asked to perform her Modern, for which she received 90 marks, allowing her to dance in the Platinum Award. Evie also won this class, being awarded a plate that was dedicated to the Queen’s Jubilee and a platinum medal.
Additionally, Evie was awarded trophies for the highest mark out of all the ‘own choreography’ sections and the highest mark in the Senior non-classical duet with her duet partner Oscar. Overall, Evie participated in 23 performances (including solos, duets, and groups), winning 11 Golds, 6 Silvers, and 5 Bronze. Over the weekend, Evie competed in Blackpool, representing her dance school as a ‘Miss Dance of Great Britain Finalist’ in front of a full 3500-seat theatre, The Opera House, Winter Gardens. We would like to congratulate Evie for her outstanding achievements at the Ore Stage Festival and for earning a place as a ‘Miss Dance of Great Britain Finalist’.
