Recently, we had an excellent evening at the biannual Farley’s Yard Trust Art Awards on October 28th. Since 2006, students from every state school and college in East Sussex have been invited to participate, with works being reviewed by Antony Penrose and Ian Chance. Awards are presented in a range of categories and Bexhill College won three awards on the night!
Congratulations to Amelie Reid for winning both the A Level Textile Design First Prize and A Level Sketchbooks First Prize. The A Level Textile Design First Prize includes an invitation to collaborate with textiles designer and educator, Abi Petit (the owner of Abigail’s Drapery in Lewes) in visits, workshops, talks, and ways that she can support our Textiles department.
And congratulations to Ruby Weaver-Hill for being awarded A Level Fine Art Media Runner-Up. Well done to both students for their outstanding achievements! Following the event, their work will be on public view in Farley’s Gallery.
