On Wednesday the 8th and Thursday the 9th of May, our Gold and Silver Arts Award groups hosted launch events for webzines they have created as part of their Unit 2 leadership project. Using a set-up of projectors and screens in our TV studio, the students guided visiting family members, friends and peers through each element of their work. The students also delivered a presentation later in the sessions to outline the specific details of their project, as well as what they hope to achieve with the launch and development of their webzine.
The Gold group titled their webzine ‘Variety of Arts’ (VOA) and expressed their aims to present the Arts as a valid and expressive career path for young people who may not know about the opportunities within the sector.
The Silver group dubbed their project ‘Media Mix’, expressing how each member of the group has their own passions, but worked together to create a larger project with the aim of promoting their work collectively and inspiring other young people to do the same.
