Bexhill College hosted a workshop for over 120 primary school pupils from Hastings and Bexhill, which was led by Future First. This workshop was part of the new Careers and Enterprise Company, and Department for Education project aimed at getting primary-aged children involved in careers education.
This workshop focused on challenging stereotypes within careers; pupils had the opportunity to ask questions and engage with 7 brilliant volunteers from a variety of sectors. This included a Chartered Surveyor, Pharmacist, Business Owner, Construction Site Manager, Enterprise Coordinator, and Project Officer. The pupils also partook in interactive activities around gender, expectations, and goal setting. It was fantastic to hear the pupils discussing how they could tackle discrimination or stereotypes, as well as their future ambitions!
