Bexhill College Development Football Academy completed their 4th fixture of the season and first of the new year, playing Thomas Bennett 4th team in a friendly game.
In difficult conditions in Crawley, both teams contested the game in a friendly but competitive nature. In what was for many of the team the first game in England since arriving in early January, the game served as a perfect opportunity for the team to play together.
In a tight first period, Thomas Bennett took an early lead before Carlo Caria expertly equalised before the half was brought to a premature end due to a serious injury suffered by a Thomas Bennett player. All at Bexhill College wish the young player a speedy recovery.
The 2nd period started again with conditions worsening and Bexhill struggling to find their groove after the enforced break with Bennett racing into a deserved 3-1 lead.
Bexhill managed to halve the deficit when Noah Bailey won and converted a penalty to set up an exciting finish. However, Bennett scored a fourth goal on the stroke of full time to complete the scoring at Thomas Bennett 4-2 Bexhill College.
Our thanks again to our kind sponsors at Educatius for their support with the Development Football Academy.
