Day 2: Students Meet United Nations Deputy Secretary General
Our Politics, Economics, Business, and Law (PEBL) students and staff have been enjoying their second day in New York City and yesterday involved a visit to the United Nations building. The group was very fortunate to meet Amina J. Mohammed (pictured in the blue dress), who is the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations; a rare and exciting opportunity for the students.

Day 3: Our Students travelled to the local government and financial district via the subway. The students had the opportunity to see the NY Supreme Court, ‘The World’ clock on Broadway, and Wall Street. The group also had an authentic Italian meal in Little Italy, saw the award-winning musical Hadestown, and went on the Staten Island Ferry to see the Statue of Liberty. Tomorrow, the students will be transferred from New York City to the capital Washington DC by coach.

Day 4: The group transferred from New York City to Washington DC via coach. Once in the capital, the group visited Walmart before going on a walking tour of the political sites. The students saw the Capitol Building, the Supreme Court, the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument, and the FBI headquarters. The students have expressed how much they’ve enjoyed their time in the capital so far and are eager to revisit the sites.

Day 5: During the fifth day of their stay in the United States, and the group’s second in the capital, our Politics, Economics, Business, and Law students visited the White House and the White House Visitor Centre. They also had the opportunity to see the Smithsonian Natural History Museum and the Smithsonian American History Museum. The group took the bus to see the Lincoln Memorial, and then visited the Old Post Office Tower.

Day 6: On their final day in the United States, our Politics, Economics, Business, and Law group visited Potomac Mills, a shopping mall located in Washington DC, where the students continued their fast-food adventures and tried corndogs. Before departing, the staff at the airport were all given a card from their walking groups to say thank you for the experience.
