Last week, our first-year T Level (Business) Management and Administration students showcased their commitment to the community and philanthropy by organizing a highly successful quiz night and raffle, raising an impressive £1281.55 for the Chestnut Tree House charity. The students were challenged with generating as much money for the charity as possible from a £50 loan.
The event, held at Geo’s Coffee House and hosted by the students, drew significant support from the local community, with over 60 people taking part. The generous sponsorship from Janet Sinders & Co, Lulu Bakes, and All Weather Exteriors played a pivotal role in the success of the fundraiser, enabling the students to maximize their impact on the charity.
Many more local businesses rallied behind the cause by contributing an array of enticing raffle prizes, reflecting the strong commitment to supporting Chestnut Tree House. The students expressed their gratitude to all the businesses that supported the event, making it a memorable night for attendees and contributors alike.
The competition was fierce during the quiz, but the team from Geo’s Coffee House emerged victorious, claiming the coveted top spot, and adding an extra layer of excitement to the evening.
“We are thrilled with the overwhelming support we received from our sponsors, local businesses, and the community at large,” said Annie Giles, Student Project Manager. “It’s heartening to see how everyone came together to make a difference for Chestnut Tree House, and we are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such a worthy cause.”
The funds raised will be donated to Chestnut Tree House, a local charity providing hospice care services for children and young people with life-shortening conditions. This initiative reflects the students’ dedication to social responsibility and their desire to make a positive impact on the lives of those in need.
